Oslo Opera House – Snøhetta

The image of a massive glacier extends from the planes of the exterior architecture to the artwork that wraps around select walls in the ground floor that represents layers of ice and crystals slowly being compressed by the weight above. The overall brightness of the entire complex is given a warmth by the ampthitheatre, whose wood cladding reflects softly-tinted golden light into the surrounding spaces.
