Land Art Design visits Acorus Restoration and St. Williams Nursery

The team at Land Art Design spent a day visiting two native plant nurseries by Lake Erie. Our gracious and informative hosts were Catherine from Acorus Restoration and David from St. Williams Nursery & Ecology Centre.

We were really compelled by their passion and enthusiasm for native plants, plus their understanding of the constraints that Landscape Architects have to face when specifying native plants in not-so-native conditions. A lot was learnt of the particular ups and downs of dealing with natives; interesting and resilient species; and the exciting new directions that native plant industry may be heading.

We really appreciate the time that both nurseries took showing us around and sharing their knowledge – and we hope to make the trip down again soon!
